Megan Update Week 6
I'm sooo tired, and I debated losing out on the 3 points just so I can hit the hay, but here I am! This week has been great, busy, fun, tiring...did I mention I'm exhausted?? HAHA.
I was really good about working out this week. The stars all aligned correctly and I was able to hit the gym hard. This week we had a substitute in my lifting class, and she was awesome! I learned so much about proper technique that our regular teacher just doesn't cover. Needless to say I was extra sore the next day from her sage advice! ;) One thing in particular that really helped was that she told us that our triceps don't really stretch like other muscles do. Calves are similar in that normal stretching doesn't always help. She suggested massaging those muscles to relieve tention and soreness. Since lifting I have had limited flexibility in my triceps particularly, and since massaging I have all of my mobility back! Woot!
I've been good about eating according to my plan. I was not as good with staying away from gluten. I'm finding that is a more difficult beast to tackle than I originally thought. I had a lot of salads this week. After a particularly grualing workout on Tuesday I felt my body craving protein in a way I haven't ever before. I felt animalistic in the way I craved it- it was crazy! So I made up a cob salad for dinner with chicken, hard boiled egg, bacon, corn, etc. The works. So yummy. In fact, we made it again for dinner tonight at my parents house. My kids all love it and it works for everyone. Definintely a win/win.
Okay, bedtime. Night, night! Hope you are all doing well!
Megan

I love the updates! Your mom said on Sunday that she was headed home and you should be there waiting. I hope she passed on my Hello! Way to kick this things butt!!!
I was there when she came home and she did pass along your 'hello'! One of these times I'm in The Hood we should get together. I feel like I'm only there in spurts and in those spurtish moments I'm absorbed in hand holding with my Mommy and hearing and watching my Dad reenact his training exercises at the gym. Love those people! While I was there my Mom was trying to push her biscuits on me. I told her I couldn't have any and she exasperatingly told me that it only had a little and in my best "Church Lady" voice, I told her, "Hmmmm isn't that speeecial. Perhaps Satan would like YOU to sin only a little bit?" HAHAHAHAHAHA. That lady!
